E-Interviews
What are “e-interviews”? They are interviews
conducted via information and communications technologies (ICTs). Both synchronous and asynchronous tools can be used for interviews conducted for diverse purposes including human resources, journalistic or marketing interviews. However, my focus is primarily on rich media synchronous ICTs and on scholarly research interviews. These types of technologies that can be used for online interviews allow for written, verbal and visual communications.
Two books introduce research design, research ethics and practical steps for planning and conducting online interviews, and offer multi-disciplinary cases of such research. To learn more read about Online Interviews in Real Time and Cases in Online Interview Research and subscribe to the Research Online Qualitative Questions–ROQROQ2 — for resources about online interviews as well as other online research methods.
